Overview

The DLT Red Hat Sales Representative II will partner with field sales professionals to uncover new sales opportunities within an assigned territory. You'll identify, nurture, and close opportunities with both new and existing customers, manage forecasts on a quarterly basis, and track customer data. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively with internal and external partners to improve business and create solutions that serve both Red Hat and our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual strategic account plans for Red Hat Account Executives
  • Hold weekly forecast calls with Red Hat Account Executives
  • Develop quarterly marketing plans to promote emerging technology capabilities
  • Sell Red Hat's comprehensive enterprise solutions
  • Provide sales support to 2-4 Red Hat field sales professionals
  • Manage forecasts, build quotes, close deals, and track customer data using CRM tool
  • Grow existing business relationships and acquire new business
  • Meet assigned sales quotas
  • Place a combined 500 calls/month
  • Maintain a minimum 90% opportunity activity status in SMaRT

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline
  • 1-2+ years of successful quota-carrying sales experience
  • 1-2+ years of solutions sales experience in software or high-tech products and services
  • Experience using CRM tools
  • Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows, and application server marketplaces
  • Industry familiarity with open source principles is a plus

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of government procurement rules, regulations, and buying vehicles
  • Ability to develop questioning strategy to identify customer needs
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to solicit customer input to develop accurate forecasting
  • Ability to recognize customer business issues and economic factors
  • Proficient time management skills
