This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and direction related to cybersecurity.  This position will require understanding of the various aspects of of the cybersecurity framework.  In this role, the engineer will make assessments of customers' current environment, suggest strategies, and maintain knowledge of DLT's vendor partners and cybersecurity technology market.


  • Keep abreast of cybersecurity priorities and requirements within government organizations
  • Provide subject matter expertise in cybersecurity
  • Maintain strong technical skills
  • Assist the sales teams with pre-sales engineering activities to include:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Technology demonstrations
  • Proof of Concepts
  • Customer  briefings
  • Design cybersecurity requirements, tailored to specific customer requirements
  • Provide customers with timely and accurate information via briefings, blogs, articles, public speaking, and other forms of media
  • Assist customers with cybersecuity solutions sets that encompass ITSEC best practices

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5 years of experience in cybersecurity.  (Manufacturer or reseller engineering experience preferred.)
  • Experience developing  for desktop and/or mobile computing platforms
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and the use of cybersecurity resources
  • In-depth knowledge of UNIX, Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with LDAP and/or Active Directory
  • Experience or exposure to work in Federal IT systems (Civ and/or DoD)
  • Basic working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
  • Basic knowledge of big data and analytics platforms and concepts (Hadoop, MapReduce)
  • Working knowledge of standard cybersecurity or cybersecurity-related tools such as Nessus, nmap, Zap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Federal cybersecurity programs, laws, regulations, and standards, such as:
  • NIST 800-53
  • FIPS 140-2
  • FedRAMP, FedRAMP+

Skills and Abilities

  • Abilty to work directly with customers to analyze requirements
  • Must possess superior customer service skills
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
