    The Credit/Collections Analyst will work within the DLT collections and credit team having responsibility for approximately 50% of their time on credit analysis and the other 50% on assigned collections accounts. This role will work closely with the DLT sales teams to carry out effective credit policy implementation and the design of credit solutions for DLT customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze new commercial customers to determine creditworthiness and credit limits
    • Complete thorough, in-depth analysis of new and routine credit requests
    • Conduct financial analysis and prepare credit recommendations of creditworthiness
    • Establish a system for codifying credit status based on consistent evaluation and documentation
    • Create products and provide recommendations for innovative credit solutions for DLT customers
    • Perform periodic reviews of existing customer files and prepare summary reports for management with recommended adjustments where appropriate
    • Communicate company credit policies to external customers and internal employees
    • Ensure all credit files are complete
    • Manage business-to-business collections of assigned accounts
    • Participate in process improvement projects, and support other management directives as prescribed
    • Other job related duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5 years credit analysis in a commercial environment
    • 2 years business-to-business collections experience in a commercial or government environment
    • Proficiency in analyzing financial statements, preferably through formal education and training – as well as on-the-job application
    • Familiar with standard financial ratios, concepts, practices, and procedures for establishing trade credit.
    • Experience with alternative financing methods such as escrow, assignment of claims, corporate guarantee, uniform commercial code, flooring, etc.
    • Outstanding attention to detail
    • Proficiency in MS Excel
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information
    • Excellent analytical skills, ability to problem solve and take initiative
    • Must be able to work extended hours at end-of-month to accommodate month-end orders
    • Must be able to work significant overtime on the last two business days of the month

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong analysis skills
    • Moderate to expert excel/spread-sheeting skills
    • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, to be used in communicating with Sales personnel and customer
