  • Overview

    The Collection Specialist is responsible for collection activities and issue resolution for a set of customers in their portfolio.


    • Contact customer end users, contracting officers and accounts payable departments to verify payment status of invoices
    • Maintain an adequate level of outbound calls and collection activities, currently defined as a minimum of 25 “touches” per day
    • Record activities in accounting system
    • Manage aging metrics within acceptable parameters
    • Follow up on previous interactions and new invoices in a timely manner
    • Escalate collection issues as needed within customer organizations or within the DLT organization
    • Build and maintain effective internal relationships with Sales, Order Management and other personnel
    • Responsible for Billing
    • Issuing invoices
    • Other job related duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School degree 
    • At least three years of commercial or government collection experience 
    • Experience collecting from government agencies strongly preferred, particularly from DoD via the WAWF payment system
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • College degree
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
    • Manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a particular emphasis on building of relationships necessary to affect collections on past due invoices
    • Familiarity with federal government rules and regulations
